Physiotherapy is a branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal, neurological or visceral diseases, of congenital or acquired nature.
The Dalla Rosa Prati Medical Centre is equipped with a team of professionals consisting of 11 physiotherapists and 2 physiatrists that are always present and available to provide instant help to patients’ needs.
In addition, the centre collaborates with other medical figures such as the neurologist, orthopedist, gynecologist, rheumatologist and radiologist who can provide the outmost help to the physiotherapist during the patient’s functional recovery work.
The physiotherapy pathway develops in 4 phases:
The physiatrics visit can be carried out in agreement with the National Health System, or as a private visit. In other cases, the patient can reach the centre via an external facility: hospitals, specialist centers or even through a general practitioner.
The pain treatment phase is done via physical therapies:
• Tecar therapy
• Laser therapy (laser K, X laser, CO2 laser)
• PST
• Iontophoresis
• Ultrasound
• Magnet therapy
• Hyperthermia
• electrostimulation and TENS (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation)
• Infrared radiation
• Traction therapy
• Microcurrent therapy
• Biofeedback (pelvic floor rehabilitation)
• In the more manual phase or, kinesis phase, the physiotherapist implements the various rehabilitation techniques necessary depending on the disease in question.
The last phase requires the patient’s introduction to the medical fitness facility to achieve all desired results by attending various courses.
