THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND

Therapeutic ultrasound is a fundamental aid in the treatment of many conditions as it helps relax contracted muscles as well as providing an analgesic effect. It specifically uses acoustic vibrations, not perceptible to the human ear, that are obtained artificially by exploiting the properties of mineral crystals under the effect of an alternated current field. By compressing and drefracting itself, this field emits ultrasound vibrations that act as an intense micro-massage that penetrate deeper tissues. In addition to this mechanical reaction, a thermal effect is also produced. It is contraindicated in cases of acute phlebitis, osteoporosis and tumours located near the sexual organs.
