Early Morphology Ultrasound Scan

The scan is performed between 16 to 18 weeks of pregnancy by an expert in the study of fetal morphology (development of fetal organs and apparatus) with a cutting-edge 3D – 4D high resolution imaging technique. The purpose of this test is to study fetal anatomy earlier than the usual 20 week scan. It thus allows for an early diagnosis of possible fetal abnormalities.
The scan, which is absolutely harmless for the fetus, is performed transabdominally (the probe is placed on the mother’s abdomen using a gel). A transvaginal scan can be performed for a clearer view of some fetal organs (the probe is covered with a latex glove and smeared with gel before being placed in the vaginal cavity).

The scan results are immediately available and include a DVD and pictures (prints and digital images).
