1.5 T MRI
NHS accreditedNuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging is based on the use of magnetic fields. It produces images on cross-sections of the body (as with the CAT) also on different angles. The patient lies on a bed which is placed in a machine that releases the magnetic field. At times a contrast agent may be needed. The exam usually does not last more than 30 minutes. Thanks to the action of the magnetic fields and through a computer, three-dimensional images of the organ to be examined are obtained. |
